This painting is a reinterpretation of Hayez's Kiss. I really like Hayez's paintings and this is one of my favorites. During a visit to the Pinacoteca di Brera in Milan, I was able to see it up close and observe every single detail. That painting really impressed me. So I decided to try to portray it in my own way with the colors I use to create my works. I chose to highlight the faces of the two protagonists by portraying them half-length. The man's cloak and the feather are made with a metallic green that creates luminous reflections and shadows in his dress. Initially the project had to include the stone blocks of the walls, then I decided to use a single color, lilac, to cover the whole background, as if the color enveloped them and to highlight them even more.
