The protagonists of this painting are two Upupa birds. The top left one shows the beauty of its wings and yellow and orange crest feathers. The other Hoopoe is on a branch of a tree and watches his mate who is catching up with him. The idea of making this painting was born during one of my walks in Tenerife where, among the palm trees, I saw these two hoopoes that I didn't know before. In the background the fantastic red sunset with some clouds and the sea reflecting its colours.
